Benchmarking dexterous dual-arm/hand robotic manipulation
DEXMART is a European large-scale integrating project (IP) funded in the Seventh Framework Programme. The acronym stands for DEXterous and autonomous dual-arm/hand robotic manipulation with sMART sensory-motor skills: A bridge from natural to artificial cognition. The project is focused on artificial systems reproducing smart sensory-motor human skills, which operate in unstructured real-world ...

gestures to input computer commands. 1 Vision-based HCI hand-gesture analysis and recognition studies require large numbers of a variety of gestures as input and a virtual hand as output to display the results. Creating a virtual hand with natural gestures would improve human hand HCI research by providing data for hand analysis systems and generating visual output for hand simulation systems. ...
متن کاملReal-Time Speed Detection of Hand Gesture using Kinect
In human-computer interaction (HCI), hand gestures provide an interactive natural communication between human and machines. Specifically, the visual interpretation of hand gestures will improve the usability, efficiency and quality of HCI. Recently, researchers are more interested in exploring computer vision-based analysis and interpretation of hand gestures, especially after the release of Mi...
متن کاملRecognizing Hand Gestures with Microsoft’s Kinect
In this paper, we propose and implement a novel method for recognizing hand gestures using rgb and depth data from Microsoft’s Kinect sensor. Our approach involves looking at specific hand motions, in addition to full body motions, to assist in the recognition of more refined gestures. With this approach, we are able to recognize ‘grasp’ and ‘drop’ gestures with over 90% accuracy.
متن کاملMeasuring Time Gestures with the Microsoft Kinect
Gestures related to time can reveal implicit representations of the TIME is SPACE metaphor (Núñez & Sweetser, 2006). While past research has shown that gestures illustrate the direction of future and past on timelines, no detailed analysis of timelines has been possible. Using the Kinect depth camera and body tracking technology, we tracked participants’ co-speech gestures while explaining time...
